Parapsychology and Psychology: Research and Theory

On November 1st and 2nd, 2014 an international group of scientists and scholars presented a variety of papers and posters on the interface between parapsychology and psychology. Presenters covered such topics as altered states of consciousness, personality and cognitive variables, and clinical issues. Posters—that is, stand along PowerPoint presentations—also were included that dealt with anomalistic psychology in Brazil, clinical intervention and research, and other topics. Presenters and Poster authors were academics, scientists, graduate students, and professors from the Instituto de Psicología Paranormal in Argentina, the University of São Paulo in Brazil, the University of Northampton in England, the University of Strasbourg in France, the Institut für Grenzegebiete der Psychologie und Psychohygiene in Germany, the University of Padova in Italy, and the University of West Georgia in the United States, among other locations.

It was an exciting experience. More than 73 individuals registered, many taking advantage of scholarships for free attendees, thanks to the largesse of Lisette Coly, the President of the Parapsychology Foundation, Natasha and Jonathan Chisdes from Chizfilm.net and Phil Morse, a former Board of Directors member of the Rhine Research Center. Of the 73 individuals who signed, between 20 and 31 attended the live online presentations during that first weekend in November. The rest have been dipping in and out of the course materials—recordings, PowerPoint presentations, and chat logs of the conference presentations, the poster sessions, YouTube videos that provided tutorials to navigate in the WizIQ virtual conference room or supported the lectures.

Not only was this an incredible experience that weekend but the conference materials are still available. Our goal was to bring a high quality conference to an online audience who could not otherwise attend in real time. The conference page will be available indefinitely for at least the next six months. If you are interested in attending, just write us a note through the contact form at the bottom of the page. Be sure to include your email address and we will send you an invitation along with a link to the video tutorial in case you get stuck setting up your free acount on the Conference webinar system.

So here are the the schedule of lecture presentations, the list of poster presentations, and at the bottom the contact form and the reference for our beautiful logo.
